KUALA NERUS: The PAS Supporters' Assembly (DHPP) reminded the party leaders not to ignore their role despite being close to Umno.
DHPP's representative, Lau Chin Chua, said Umno's presence was recent but DHPP had long been together in defending PAS in some areas and drawing non-Malay supporters in previous elections.
“Now (PAS) is becoming friendly with Umno, MCA and MIC. Remember why Umno fell..because its leaders were not trustworthy, “he said when debating the PAS president's policy speech in conjunction with the 64th PAS General Assembly at the State Sports Complex's Indoor Stadium here today.
Lau also attracted the attention of the delegates when reminding members of PAS to be cautious about 'friendship' with Umno, MCA and MIC at this point in order not to act to defend their corrupt leaders.
“Friends are friends but a wrong is still a wrong. If some of them are punished for corruptions, we do not sympathise with them because they are wrong,” he said. — Bernama
