KUCHING: Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa is expected to end his six-year term as Chief Secretary to the Government on August 29, reported Free Malaysia Today, citing a source from the Public Service Department.

It was also reported that Ali’s contract would not be renewed, despite talk of several quarters hoping he would receive an extension.

According to FMT, the source claimed that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad might be looking at several recommended candidates to take over the post.

When contacted by FMT, Ali refused to confirm his retirement, saying, “No comment.”
