Pahang’s Tengku Arif Bendahara laid to rest

PEKAN: The Sultan of Pahang's younger brother Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Abdullah Sultan Abu Bakar, was laid to rest at the Pahang Royal Mausoleum here yesterday evening.

Tengku Arif Bendahara died of lymphoma cancer at the Gleneagles Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, at 11.30am yesterday.

His remains arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base (RMAF) Kuantan at 5.30pm.

He leaves behind a wife, Puan Sri Habibah Yusof and three children, Tengku Marsilla, who is the wife of former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Tengku Bakar and Tengku Shaheera.

Pahang Regent Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah attended the funeral.

Also present were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, former Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and members of the Pahang royal family. — Bernama
