THE inaugural Kancil Creative Festival to gather innovative minds across two fascinating days of creative stimulation

The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Malaysia (4A's) will host its first Kancil Creative Festival this July 26 and 27. Held at Ruang by ThinkCity, KL, the creative festival themed “Celebrating humanity in creativity, technology and culture” will gather some of the most innovative minds across diverse backgrounds.

These include MP of Lembah Pantai Fahmi Fadzil; social documentary story-teller Bassam Tariq; founder of Dialogue in the Dark Steven Chan; artist and heritage activist Stella Soo; producer of 101 East at Al Jazeera; and others.

Visitors can expect exhibitions, mini-workshops, dialogue sessions and immersive experiences as well as talks from a line-up of 16 speakers from a variety of disciplines. Results of the recent “The 666 Young Director's Challenge” will also be announced and the winners' award-winning six-minute films showcased.

The aim of this festival: “To bring together people that are so seemingly different to discover their commonality so as to celebrate these differences that ironically makes us one,” said Kancil Creative Festival creative council chairman Alvin Teoh.

“The festival is designed to be inclusive so that the public at large are able to appreciate the type of work that taps into the beauty of the human experience, and hopefully inspires new compelling ideas in their lives,” he added.

“The festival not only breaks down barriers but embraces the power of the people in celebrating an evolving landscape of borderless creativity,” chimed in organising chairman of the festival Karthi Palanisamy.

Moreover, festival-goers will have access to the prestigious Kancil Awards Night where they can witness first-hand, compelling works from the most creative minds in the industry in Malaysia.

Five new categories are introduced this year – The Culture Kancils; Kancil for Good; The Innovation Kancils; The Effectiveness Kancils; and Production House of the Year.

Festival tickets are priced at RM2,600 for the public and RM2,200 for 4A's members. A 10% discount is applicable for groups of five or more.

Tickets are HRDF claimable.
