Coroner in Vasanthapiriya’s inquest visits school

NIBONG TEBAL: The coroner in the inquest into the death of Form Two student M. Vasanthapiriya, who was found hanged, believed due to humiliation after she was accused of stealing a mobile phone belonging to a teacher, visited the scene of the incident at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Methodist Nibong Tebal, here today.

Norsalha Hamzah, who arrived at 3pm, spent about an hour at the scene, accompanied by deputy public prosecutors Yusaini Amier Abdul Karim and J. G. Kameni.

They were shown some of the key locations that have been described in the previous inquest sessions by several witnesses, including the path used by the student after she took the mobile phone.

Hearing continues next Friday.
