JOHOR BAHRU: A woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Kilometre 79, Jalan Johor Bahru-Ayer Hitam here.
Kluang district police chief ACP Mohamad Laham identified the victims as Nurul Aqilah Tukol, 25, and Amanda Nur Keisha Akmal Lutfi. Both died on the spot.
They were travelling in a Toyota Vios, with Amanda's father, Akmal Lufti Esa, 32, at the wheel, when he was believed to have lost control of the car, causing it to skid and crash into the oncoming lorry at 2.30pm, he said, adding that the family was heading to Ayer Hitam from Simpang Renggam.
Mohamad said Akmal Lutfi was seriously injured and sent to Kluang Hospital.while the lorry driver, aged 56, was not injured. — Bernama
